Warranty Expired

Gratitude Day 24: What are three things I’m grateful for about my physical health?

Arthritis in my hands, knees, and now my shoulder.

A bit too much flesh on my bones.

Gray hair.

Developing cataracts.

I could lament on all the ways this body is falling apart, or I could be grateful for the things that still work.

Such as being able to type even with arthritis. How I can still walk and climb stairs (albeit a bit slower) with arthritic knees. Even though I may wince when I move my shoulder, I can still carry things and open stubborn jars.

I can still see. I can still hear. I don’t get sick very often.

God willing this body still has a few more quality years left on it. Especially since the warranty ran out decades ago.

  1. I share the gradual decay but challenge myself to mount the stairs and reach the top shelf. Let’s keep the parts working.
