I had a dream last night.
I know, shocking.
I can’t claim it was prescient or anything. More like an unconscious fear that bubbled up into my conscious mind.
Two weeks ago I ordered a copy of my book to give it one more look-through before I release it. Yet I didn’t constantly check my email for a shipping notification or constantly check its progress through UPS.
I mostly forgot all about it.
Then last night I dreamt my book arrived!
Except the cover wasn’t even close. The title was written in a different language, and the pages fell out when I opened it.
Have fun with that one, psychoanalysts!
Out of curiosity, this morning I checked UPS and discovered it was out for delivery. Coincidence? Most likely, but nevertheless an interesting one.
Well, it arrived, and the cover is what it’s supposed to be, the title is, in fact, in English, and it didn’t fall apart when I turned the pages. I’m actually quite pleased with the quality.
So I went through it and found quite a few things I need to change. Luckily they were minor: One small portion was the wrong sized font, an extra space here and there, one spelling error, and some missing footnotes.
Good thing I ordered only one copy! So I spent most of this evening fixing everything and re-uploaded the revised files. Approval should take about five days. After that it’s time to (gulp) market the darn thing.
