Gratitude Day 15: Who has supported me during difficult times?
Today’s society seems to frown on marriage and tells people to wait until their 30s-40s. If even then.
I grew up in the 80s, (Gen-Xer here!) and even then marriage was beginning to be frowned upon.
Yet I married at 22.
And never looked back.
Through the last 30+ years, my husband has been my unwavering support and partner. Without him, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Because of him, I’m confident in my abilities, and he gives me courage to pursue my dreams.
He also keeps me grounded. I’m a bit of a dreamer, so when I want to jump in without looking, he gently holds me back and tells me to wait. I don’t always listen, but at the same time, I know he’ll catch me if (when) I fall.
We, of course, have had our challenges, but that’s true with every marriage. Each helped strengthen our relationship, our marriage, and our love for one another. We are partners through life, and we are never alone when even more challenges come our way.
Beautifully expressed. Courageously lived.
