Some updates on my writing journey!

First is I received an email that the blog entry I submitted to the 92nd Writers Digest Annual Writing Competition made an honorable mention for the humor category. Not a bad result if I may say so myself.

I also just submitted a short story to a quarterly fantasy magazine. This particular story actually took 2nd place of the Genre Fiction category of the 85th Writers Digest Competition. I figured it was time to see that story in print. I’ll find out in eight weeks or so if they’re interested.

As for the novel I presented to a publisher at Realm Makers, I did receive an email that they will be reviewing manuscripts over the next week or so. Hopefully I’ll receive a response soon. I’m still trying to keep my hopes high, but expectations low.

Now comes more waiting. I like to say (and considered putting it on a mug a time or two): “I asked God to teach me patience, so he made me a writer.”
