I just noticed I haven’t written an entry in over a month. It’s not as though I haven’t thought about it; I have. Quite a bit. But I also haven’t been able to come up with a subject to discuss. At least not one I find all that interesting. And if I don’t find it interesting, you certainly wouldn’t.
Still, you deserve something so you know I’m not dead.
On the writing front I’m preparing (albeit slowly) for the 11th annual Realm Makers writers conference in July. I managed to snatch two appointments with publishers where I plan to present two of my novels (one Christian sci-fi and the other fantasy). I don’t expect too much interest, because, at least with one publisher, I’m not 100% sure my novel will be a good fit. That said, their publishing strategy is unique, and I’d like to learn more about it. They not only publish Christian sci-fi, they also include a companion study guide for their books. That’s where the “not sure” comes in, because the books they have seem more geared toward the middle/high school grade audience whereas mine is more for adults. Still, to create a study guide with mine would be fun to try.
I also submitted one of my blog entries to this years Writers Digest Annual Writing Competition. I chose the humor category for this particular entry. I don’t expect to win anything, but I hope I make the judges laugh a little at least.
I’m also polishing up my previous Writers Digest 2nd place winner (back in 2016) in the short story-genre fiction category to submit to several publishers. I hope to submit that in the next month as I plan on reading it to my local writers group for their critiques.
I’m also close to being finished polishing up my collection of blog entries to be self-published. I hope to have that ready to go by the end of this year. Certainly by Christmas. I will, of course, keep you all apprised of it all!
In the mean time, I hope you’re having a fabulous summer. Me, I should spend more of it out of doors, because my skin is as pale as the screen I’m typing on right now.
